We Knew It Was Only a Matter of Time

Every parent knows that once a child can talk, it's only a matter of time until the comments start that make you want to hide.  At Nordstroms, Leah once informed me in her loud voice that a woman had holes in her jeans.  That wasn't so bad.  At the gas station today, Leah quite loudly told me that there was a man with a very big belly.  Of course, the next thing out of her mouth was that I have a big belly because I have a baby in there.  She then pointed out that boys don't have babies in their bellies.  It was only a matter of time.

Just like roses

Leah came home from a two week vacation with her grandparents yesterday.  We had a busy afternoon catching up and playing games and with her dolls.  After dinner, we were trying to decide if Leah needed a shower.  So we asked ourselves whether she smelled.  Leah walks over to me, bends over, sticks her butt in the air, and says "Smell me,"  adding a little wiggle for emphasis.  It was like she had never left.
